Stargazer Cropped Pixie Duster
The Stargazer kimono is crafted from an extraordinary celestial print drawn from an 1833 engraving by artist Karl Vollmy, capturing the awe-struck moment of the earliest recorded Leonid Meteor Shower. On that night, over 240,000 meteors lit up the heavens — a storm of stars cascading across North America and sparking wonder in the hearts of all who looked up. We like to believe 240,000 wishes took flight too.
The delicate crescent moon illustrations on each sleeve are borrowed from 1899 astronomy drawings made at the Camille Flammarion Observatory near Paris — a quiet nod to those who gaze skyward with curiosity and reverence.
